How I get my Makeup to look Dewy and Natural!

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about how I get my makeup to look natural and dewy!

First of all, my favorite foundation at the moment is the L’Oréal Pro Glow. I love the coverage it gives and it has a nice satin/dewy finish. Before I put that on my face, I first prime with the Elf Hydration Primer and the L’Oréal Lumi primer on top of that. The Elf primer really gives the foundation an even, hydrated base to go on top of, while the L’Oréal primer adds a nice glow from within look that really comes out under the foundation. Next I put a dot of foundation on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and I spread it out using my finger. Using my finger to spread my foundation out helps the foundation get warmed up. Next I blend my foundation out with a damp beauty blender to make sure there are no harsh lines and any excess product is soaked up. Then I put on all of my powders, bronzer and highlight but the last step is really what makes the powders and foundation melt together to make my skin look perfect. I’ve been doing something a little different. Instead of spraying setting spray directly on my face, I spray it onto my already damp sponge and before the sponge absorbs the setting spray, I lightly bounce it all over my face. It sets my makeup and really makes everything melt together and look beautiful! It’s my new favorite way to lock in my face for the day!

My skin care products!

Hey! So today I thought I’d talk about what skin care products I use for my extremely dry skin. At the moment my favorite moisturizers are the Clinique Dramatically Moisturizing  Lotion and the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel Cream. I switch between them for both morning and night. I also use Physicians Formula Aragon Oil for under my eyes and on my lips. They all do a good job of keeping my skin hydrated. My skin is also very sensitive and none of these products irritate or break me out.

To take my makeup off I use the Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for eyes and lips. I put a little on a cotton ball and it’s so gentle for the eye area and gets off all of my eye makeup. For the rest of my face I use the Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser. I switch between just using my hands and using my Vanity Planet brush. Since my skin is sensitive I don’t use the brush everyday, but if I’ve been wearing very heavy makeup that day I’ll use the brush to really deep clean my pores. It leaves my skin feeling so clean.

Morphe Palette 35S

Good morning! I wanted to talk about Morphe Eyeshadow Palettes today. In my opinion they are great eyeshadows, especially for the price. They have good pigmentation, blend out well and don’t cost you an arm and a leg.

The palette featured above is the 35S palette, one of my favorites. It has so many colors that pop. My favorite way to use the shimmery colors is to pick up the shadow on a flat packing brush, spray it with setting  spray and start packing it on my lid with a combination of patting and short swiping motions. This gives me the best color pay off in my opinion. The look below was done with the 35S and 35N palettes using the techniques I described above.

The palette is lightweight which makes it good for travel but I do wish it had a mirror and a sturdier packaging. The packaging can feel a little cheap.

I do think Morphe eyeshadows are worth the money and I’ll definitely be buying more!

First Blog Post! :)

IMG_7096Hi everyone! This is my very first blog post. I’m a makeup artist and I want to use this blog to showcase my work and go deeper into talking about the products I use. I also have an Instagram page and the link on the right hand side. I also want to use this blog to discuss different makeup brands, skin care products and what works best for my dry skin. Okay lets get started!

For this look I used:

Morphe Palettes 35N and 35S; I honestly love Morphe eyeshadow palettes as well as their brushes. They’re pigmented, blend well and all around good quality shadows, especially for the price.

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk; This eyeliner is so pigmented and creamy. It glides on my water line really well. The one thing I will say is it doesn’t last all day on me but pretty much all liners I use on my waterline don’t last all day.

L’oreal Telescopic Mascara; This mascara does such a good job elongating my lashes. It doesn’t add much volume but I still like the way it looks.

The purple eyeliner is by a brand named Darby Smart but I’m not sure if it’s an eyeliner or an arts and crafts pen. Haha. So I wouldn’t recommend using it on your eyes even though it worked out for me.
